their hocus focus holiday lofi
that they made in record time
[the app as well as the ditty itself]
and the silly, almost spooky song
of lionel richie
remade for the land of lego
[and my nyc v/o debut]
and was this poem just a sneaky way
to share this house’s kipmas sucesses
with whomsoever reads this poem?
well, yes.
i used to think
to feel satisfied in life
i needed fame, notoriety,
an excess of success
but the longer i find
in my unknown life
the tiny pieces of joy
that set my heart alight
the more i begin to suspect
i might have been
a little bit
incorrect
success
isn’t always fleeting
sometimes it’s delayed
or avoided
or even unknown
sometimes
success
means something different
from the outside than from the in
sometimes
success
shouldn’t be measured
anyway
because accomplishment
and competition
stem from that same capitalism
that’s ruining
everything
