i can feel the allergens
tickling my throat,
attacking my everyday systems
and interrupting,
creating weeping eyes
and pained heads
and sinuses that feel like
explosion is imminent
and the fogginess is permanent
but i know, the next cold day,
or non-pollen-drop,
i’ll be fine
i’ll be fine
i’ll be fine
[i’m not dying]
the sinus headache is strong
this morning
and putting pressure on my sleep glands
to nap nap nap
all day
the dying sinuses
of the colder weather
last week
the residual sinus headache
as the weather warms once more
this week
i am no longer a human person,
i am simply a conglomeration
of inflamed nasal passages
affected by temperature
coffee beats
caffeine beats
coffee beans
coffee club
caffeine caffeine
(will there ever be a time
that covfefe might be an adorable memory from the past
instead of the trigger
it is now?)

from my sinuses
to…the rest of my body
(all from my sinuses)
(my sinuses are fully to blame)
and i’m blaming my sinuses
also
for not feeling
quite
fully
awake.
